College of the Mainland
The City of Texas City has worked closely with College of the Mainland to provide specific training needs for industry. The college has initiated a degree program with the assistance of the local petrochemical industry that trains individuals in petrochemical processes. The program is P-Tec. The end result is an associate degree for the student and an employable workforce for the local industry.

The college has had nearly 100 percent placement of all students who graduate from the program. In addition, the college works with local businesses for short-term training in special needs area or specialty jobs.
