Transportation
The City of Texas City is fortunate to have access to all forms of transportation; be located at prime crossroads; and to have interstate access. Texas City is close to Houston Hobby Airport (William P. Hobby), even closer to Ellington Field, just about an hour from Bush Intercontinental Airport, and across the causeway from Galveston's Scholes Field.

Texas City is served by two class 1 railroads — Union Pacific and Santa Fe/Burlington Northern — and has Texas City Terminal Railway, which has lines located within the industrial area of the city. Texas City has a port that primarily serves the petrochemical complex.

The road system for Texas City is centered on Interstate 45 and a host of state highways and expressways.
