What is Small Business Tuesday?
It is a day sponsored by the City of Texas City, the Texas City Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC), and the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce to promote small businesses in Texas City. Small businesses in Texas City can participate by agreeing to host an open house within their business or join with another business at their location. The Cit,y working with the chamber, TCEDC and local newspapers, promote the start of the holiday shopping season. Texas City Small Business Tuesday is a time for local businesses to really shine and remind not only our residents, but the entire southeast Houston region what we have in Texas City to offer. It is not just for retail, but an opportunity for the industrial support businesses, construction trade, restaurants, and service industries to let people know of the opportunities and fine services and products we have in Texas City.

As a customer, shopper, or resident, Small Business Tuesday is a fun way to find that unique something, get a little more pampering or attention, and/or discover what there is in Texas City. Close to the holidays, when things get hectic and there are so many obligations, Texas City has found a way to start holiday shopping without the crowds, before Black Friday's mad rush, and without the pressure to get you into the Texas City stores. Many of the participating stores will host open houses with food and drinks, offer special discounts, have special events or drawings in their store, special displays or even have demonstrations.
